By the way, what a horrific day.
It started when I woke up at 4 a.m. in order to open the place at 7.
Only I’d never opened before and there was no one there to show me anything, as was planned, due to a scheduling error.
Therefore I did not know the code to enter when the alarm went off as I entered the office. Loud noises make me shaky and I’m not sure I ever recovered as the day went on.
And ON and ON it went.
Next the Health Dept. Inspector showed up, and although we run a tight ship and were able to pass easily, it was still frightening.
On top of that, we were extremely busy throughout the day and when I finally sat down to eat lunch, the other manager decided to go to the bank and so I didn’t get to eat much at all in the 3 minutes I was able to spend with my sandwich.
Then, when I was counting the drawer, it seemed we were over a thousand dollars short. I was like: ELIZABETH, I’M COMING! IT’S THE BIG ONE!!!
But then I found it.
I celebrated with a new pair of boots on the way home, which sounds nice, but in reality I had to, as my old ones are falling apart.
And it’s going to be a lot worse over the next two days.
People who go out for brunch in this city are vicious and spiteful and will attempt to intimidate you by crowding you into a corner, hoping that it will make you so nervous you just seat them to get them out of your face.
Fuckers. It just makes me want to kick them in the kneecaps.
