Ma'amaging the shit out of that place.

Mon Dec 12

Yesterday I twice caught my fellow manager discussing me with the serving staff. Both times I walked up behind him as he was doing so, which must have been incredibly awkward for him. I know it was for me, as he was sharing things I had told him manager to manager, and which I did not expect would be shared with my employees.

Not knowing what to say, I told him that from then on I would start wearing a bell so that he wouldn’t be taken by surprise next time.

You know, whatever I can do to make it easier on him.

I might be concerned by all of this backstabbing if I didn’t understand where it was coming from. I am the most likely candidate for the promotion that is coming up in the next 6 months, and since his idea of management is coloring comic book scenes he prints off of the internet, smoking cigarettes outside all night, and coming in to work obviously stoned, I suppose I can understand his concern.

The other manager apparently isn’t in line for the promotion, I’m not sure why exactly, but his being an obvious animatron might factor in there somehow.

How in the fuck did I come to be a shining example of responsibility and work ethic??

I guess I shouldn’t question it, since it’s not something I actually made a goal.
